Wreck Weekend in Dalarö, in crispy spring and all in english on these dates!

The Baltic Sea and the Stockholm archipelago are full of wrecks! Storms, sea battles and bad luck have sunk many ships in all wind directions. Dive depth is 5-30m, some of the dive sites go down to 40m and there are also deeper technical dive sites. If your group is interested in marine life and the environment of the Baltic Sea, we can also run nature dives. We tell stories about kings, trading routes and sea accidents and delve into fine details that make diving unique. We decide dive sites according to weather and wind, and a good plan is to do a few dives on the historical wrecks from the Swedish Great Empire era. Magnificent ships from the 1600´s with a lot of history around them. There are also some slightly newer steel shipwrecks to visit.

Boat
We run rib boats and they take 8 rec divers plus our dive guides each. There are proper diving ladders and it is easy to climb up with the equipment on. Take as little gear as possible on board, we go out in a dry suit and put on the equipment at the dive site after the briefing. When the boat goes out, it is on the sea all day so each diver brings gas for two dives.

The dive planning is that a twinset of D12 or two single tanks is enough for a dive day for recreational divers. If there are technical divers on board with more equipment and stage tanks, the maximum number of divers and price will be adjusted to accommodate the necessary service and space onboard.

If you want to google potential wrecks for the weekend, check out: Victor, Gröne Jägaren, Pilkobbsvraket, Riksäppelt, Tyr, Anna-Maria, Kostervraket, Sappemeer, Älvsnabbenvraket and Bodekull. We pick and choose among even more dive sites and we are a little secretive about some of them. Our nature dive sites are everywhere in the archipelago and have different seasons.

Package price for 3 boat diving days is 9500 SEK and includes:
* Check-dive on the day of arrival from land
* 6 boat dives, two per day
* 3 nights, accommodation in a shared room. Check-in Wednesday at 13.00, check-out Saturday after the dives
* Food, (3 breakfast, 3 lunch, 3 dinner)
* Sheets, towels and final cleaning

Gasfills are ontop and paid on site. We dive on nitrox and perfect blend for most divesites is 32%. If anyone in your team need to get a nitrox certification we can arrange this along with your stay if booked in advanced.

This is a recreational diving weekend. Space is calculated on every diver needed either one twinset D12 or two single tanks. If you want to bring more equipment onboard (take up more space) choose in dropdown menu below.

Arrival day starts in the afternoon with a check dive at our local dive site visiting an early 20th century wreck, making sure your buoyancy and trim is good and checking that no one has any leaks in gloves, gear or suit. There is also the possibility of night dive during the weekend if you book it well in advance of arrival.

Lodging & logistics
The rooms at Vrakdykarpensionatet are two shared rooms with four beds in each. There are two shared showers and laundry facilities. Full service and everything a diver needs, dive shop, equipment, drying rooms, charging, kitchen and gas filling. We also have a sauna and beer fridge, bring your own alcoholic drinks. We do two dives a day and spend the evenings at the Vrakdykarpensionatet eating good food or warming up in the sauna. Breakfast and dinner are served at the Vrakdykarpensionatet, lunch is served outside on the archipelago island. Report allergies well in advanced or if there are vegans in the group. We also have a charging station for electric cars. Travel together in as few cars as possible, it´s good for the environment and parking tetris.

There are a couple of private guest cabins for rent. They are close to us, you can fit 2 people in each, have your own bathroom and kitchenette and cost 120 EUR per night per cabin, book in advance by email.

We meet on Thursday at 15.00 at Vrakdykarpensionatet. Check-dive starts at 16.00 and in the evening we go through all the preparations for the weekend, fill up gas and eat supper.

If you want to get to Dalarö earlier and have lunch, there are several restaurants in the village. The address of Vrakdykarpensionatet is Västra Vadviksvägen 2, Dalarö https://goo.gl/maps/J23RHvKRrXK2ciK97.

Experience level: You need to be certified at leat til 30m, be an experienced drysuit coldwater diver and nitrox. Minimum 50 logged dives in cold water.

Bring: thick underwear, proper diving lights, backup light, SMB, charger for lights/cameras, swimwear for the sauna, beer/drinks, hat for the boat trip, flip flops and water bottle.

During this time of year it´s cold in the water, expect a watertemperature of 2-4 degrees. Drysuit gloves and thick hood is a requirement, electric heated vest/undergarment is a recommendation. It will however most likely be beautiful on land and warmer in the sun!

A suggestion is to visit VRAK – Museum of Wrecks in Stockholm along with your stay, perhaps during the day on the day of arrival, as their exhibitions are about our wrecks and the Baltic Sea https://www.vrak.se/ . The famous Vasa Museum is located in the same area on Djurgården https://www.vasamuseet.se/en.
